Position Summary:
Elmira College is currently seeking an excellent professional for a tenure–track position in a collegial undergraduate program of Nurse Education which includes a four-year generic baccalaureate track and an RN completion track. Rank open. The primary responsibility will be theoretical content in the classroom and clinical supervision of students in the area of Community Health. The position requires classroom and clinical teaching each term of the academic year based on the needs of the program.
Elmira College, the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies, is a small, well-established, residential, liberal arts college in a pleasant community in the Finger Lakes region of New York State (county population 100,000). The College's enrollment continues at strong levels. 10% of the current student body graduated first or second in their high school or prep school class. Average class size is 16; student-faculty ratio is 11:1.
Minimum educational preparation is a Master’s degree in Nursing; doctorate preferred for initial appointment. Three years teaching experience preferred. Recent clinical experience required. Candidates must hold an unencumbered New York State Professional Nursing license and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
