Winter 2013 Pre-Law Lecture Series - Sentence and Dissent: Law and Literature
Law and literature share a foundation in language. Both are shaped by rhetoric, forms of argument, and interpretation. But what can the law learn from literature, and what can literature learn from the law? This lecture examines how a broad understanding of narrative allows us to think more critically about social issues -- includingconceptions of crime, punishment, justice, and ethics -- through the literary and legal imaginations.
